Validation

Customer discovery and venture validation

Aught helps funded founders and corporate teams test new opportunities with customers. We can find participants, investigate customer needs, test an offer, build a prototype or pilot and run the agreed experiment. The work produces evidence for a decision: proceed, change direction, stop or investigate further.

01

Define the decision before designing the test

We start with what you need to learn and what would change your next move. That means identifying the customer group, the assumptions to examine and the evidence that would be useful. An interview, a pricing test and a live pilot answer different questions; the method should fit the uncertainty.

The assignment can combine customer discovery, offer and pricing tests, acquisition experiments, prototypes and early operations. We agree how participants are reached, how the test will work and what the team needs to contribute. AI can support research, prototyping and development, while human judgment and actual customer response remain central.

02

Carry the limitations into the decision

The handover can include customer evidence, a tested offer, a prototype or pilot, and a record of what the work supports. We make unresolved questions visible. A useful experiment does not guarantee product-market fit, repeatable economics or production readiness; it helps you decide what deserves the next commitment.

Questions

Common questions

Can the outcome be a decision to stop?
Yes. Stopping, changing direction and finding that more evidence is needed are legitimate outcomes. We agree the decision criteria before interpreting the results.
Can you build what is needed for the test?
Yes. A scoped prototype or pilot can form part of the assignment. Its intended use, operating boundaries and handover are agreed explicitly.
