Positioning & market entry for technology companies

Build a stronger offer. Turn it into commercial progress.

We work with technology providers on what to offer, who it matters to and how to get it into use. From repositioning and new functionality to business development and customer implementation, we take responsibility for a defined part of the journey.

A useful place to start

Strong technology is a starting point. The next challenge might be making the offer easier to buy, closing a gap in the product or pursuing a new market. Our initial depth is in insurance technology, including software platforms, infrastructure and API businesses. We bring commercial and delivery perspectives to the same assignment.

The Michelin star strategy: useful routes to customers

01Positioning and offer

Make the value easier to see. And easier to buy.

We review what you offer, talk to relevant buyers where agreed, and identify the customer problems and segments worth prioritizing. Together, we decide what to lead with, what to leave out and how the offer should be packaged.

The work can include a focused offer, use-case priorities, a credible demo and customer-facing materials. It connects how you describe the product with what a customer needs to understand, evaluate and commit to. The aim is a commercially useful offer, grounded in the buying decision.

What the work can produce

A focused offer, priority use cases and materials that support real buying conversations.

02Product co-design

Design the functionality that makes the difference.

We work with your product team and customers to find unmet needs, define a focused feature or journey and test how it should work. We can develop a prototype or a scoped extension where that helps answer the question.

A proposed feature, a tested prototype, a jointly agreed change to the core platform and a customer-specific implementation are different outputs. We make that distinction explicit. Your team retains the decisions about its platform; customer insight informs those decisions without becoming a claim of proven demand.

What the work can produce

Customer insight, a feature specification, a prototype or a prioritized development plan.

03Business development and market entry

Turn a target market into active commercial work.

We can own defined prospecting, customer and partner development, market-entry tests and commercial follow-through. That means pursuing conversations, adapting the offer, supporting discussions and keeping next steps moving.

For a European provider exploring the US, or a Germany-to-US project, the work could start with a specific insurance segment, a pilot offer and the relationships needed to test it. Demos and landing pages support the commercial work when useful. Progress is reviewed against the agreed project and what the market actually tells us.

What the work can produce

A focused market test, active customer and partner conversations, and a clear record of progress and learning.

04Software and implementation

Help a sale become something the customer can use.

A signed agreement often leaves work to do. We can take on agreed configuration, customer journeys, extensions, integrations or onboarding around the provider’s technology, with testing and operational acceptance in scope.

The provider may commission the work, or the customer may engage Aught separately. We clarify responsibilities, platform access and dependencies before starting. Core-platform changes require the appropriate agreement; customer-specific work has its own scope and handover.

What the work can produce

An agreed customer implementation, with acceptance criteria, documentation and a route into use.

Illustrative engagement

A new segment.
A practical route in.

A provider explores a new insurance customer segment, tests what it offers, co-designs a missing workflow and pursues a first pilot. The commercial and product questions inform each other as the work progresses.
